The Durrell Villas

The Strawberry-Pink Villa, the Daffodil-Yellow Villa and the Snow-White Villa - the Durrell houses are a far cry from being a mere background in the story. Their presence is truly vivid and captivating and one would say they are a palpable character on their own. Recreating that particular charm decades later must have been some sort of a challenge but the film crew has risen to it and it must have been such a pleasure of a house-hunting.
Yet nothing stays the same, life is going on and things change. None of us who are visiting Corfu on some sort of a pilgrimage could (and should not) expect to see that very same magic, unchanged, untouched.
